Messi on his plans for Argentina national team games

Lionel Messi has spoken out about his future in the Argentina national team after the America’s Cup.

“Right now I’m not plotting ahead. I’m enjoying the game and assessing the situation day by day, seeing what happens to me and what we achieve.

I suffered for a very long time because the results weren’t the best. We had some tough times. Now I’m enjoying every day. And it will continue until it’s over, until I feel I can’t go on anymore.

I was doing well at this America’s Cup, but then an injury changed my plans. What happened next was not what I expected or hoped for.

Now we have the opportunity to play in another final. We need to enjoy it and we need to approach the game with all responsibility and give our best to win.

In the match against Canada, in terms of physical condition, I felt very good. During the match against Chile, I had a problem with my adductor muscle and it was uncomfortable to play. I was slowed down, the injury bothered me when I had to shift sideways.

During the game against Ecuador, everything was fine in terms of the injury, but it was swirling around in my head that something was wrong with me. In the last match I got rid of my fears, I felt better and after these days leading up to the final I will feel even better,” said the Argentina captain.

On July 15, Argentina and Colombia will take the baton from Euro 2024 and play in the final of the America’s Cup. The match will take place at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami.
